Blue Safari Conservation | Protecting Seychelles' Outer Islands
Our impact on the breathtaking natural beauty of the remote Outer Islands lies at the heart of who Blue Safari is and what we do. As the stewards of this area, we work together with various partners and stakeholders to continuously pioneer conservation in this region.

Seychelles Manta Ray Project

Working with the Manta Trust and Save Our Seas Foundation, we have been monitoring the spatial ecology, population dynamics and movements of Manta Rays around the Alphonse Group since 2016.

Long-Term Monitoring of Turtle Nesting

The outer islands remains some of the last, undisturbed nesting grounds for two species of threatened sea turtle. This long-term project started in 2007 and monitors trends in population numbers and nesting activity through daily turtle patrols.

Researching the Giant Trevally

The predatory 'GT' is one of the primary target species in the recreational, catch-and-release fly-fishery of the outer islands. We are working with international academic and local conservation partners to investigate the spatial ecology of the species.

Alphonse Group Shark Project

We are working closely with regional partners, the Save Our Seas Foundation to implement a long-term project monitoring the abundance, diversity, spatial ecology, habitat interactions and diet of sharks around the Alphonse Group.

An Untouched Paradise

Overlooking picture-postcard-perfect beaches, fringed by tropical foliage and with not another soul in sight, each of the Blue Safari atollsā€˜ lodges are wonderfully individual and completely immersed in the natural surroundings of the Outer Islands.
